Mosswood Academy is a weekly outdoor enrichment program designed exclusively for homeschooling students in grades 4 through 7. We offer students one or two full days each week immersed in Colorado's remarkable landscapes while exploring science, nature, creativity, leadership, and meaningful friendships.

Each week features a brand new expedition inspired by the changing seasons and the natural world. Throughout the year, students complete unique expeditions filled with hiking, field investigations, nature journaling, hands on science, creative projects, and outdoor exploration.

Our program is intentionally designed to complement your homeschool journey, providing enriching experiences while giving students the opportunity to build confidence, independence, and lasting friendships.

Our Mission

At Mosswood Academy, we believe education should cultivate wonder.

Our mission is to provide thoughtfully designed outdoor enrichment experiences that inspire curiosity, build confidence, encourage meaningful friendships, and foster a lifelong appreciation for the natural world.

We believe children learn best when they are actively engaged—asking questions, making discoveries, solving problems, creating, exploring, and connecting with the world around them. Through weekly expeditions, students develop scientific thinking, creativity, resilience, leadership, and stewardship while experiencing the beauty and diversity of Colorado's landscapes.

More than anything, we hope every student leaves Mosswood Academy with muddy boots, a confident spirit, lifelong friendships, and the curiosity to keep exploring long after the school year has ended.

Explore the Year

Our two weekly program days feature completely different expeditions, allowing families to enroll in one or both days without repeating content. While each campus follows the same educational framework, individual expeditions may be adapted to reflect the unique landscapes, wildlife, and seasonal opportunities found within each region.
